Jones to fight Green for IBO world title in Sydney

<div><p>American former four-division world champion Roy Jones Jr. will fight Australian defending champion Danny Green for the IBO cruiserweight world title here on December 2, organisers announced Thursday.</p><p>New South Wales state Premier Nathan Rees, whose state government is backing the fight, said Green would defend the IBO cruiserweight title he won last month against Jones in the American's first bout outside the United States.</p><p>"The fight is expected to attract widespread interest from sports fans in Australia and around the world to see two legends of the sport putting it all on the line," Rees said.</p><p>Jones, 40, is rated one of the greatest pound-for-pound fighters of all time.</p><p>He has won eight titles in four divisions in his 20-year career, with a 54-5 record, 40 wins coming inside the distance.</p><p>Green, 36, has won three world titles in separate divisions, the most recent in August when he stopped Argentine Julio Cesar Dominguez in the fifth round.</p><p>Green emulated his former trainer Jeff Fenech as the only other Australian to win title belts in three divisions.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=58973004&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
