Meerakts have been voted the 'most popular' creatures on TV, they're the subject of the 'most requested' wildlife film clip, and the long-running series about them 'Meerkat Manor' has gone around the world. But the colony of cute creatures who are the stars of this wildlife soap opera have become so accustomed to the humans who film them that they now consider them part of the gang. A new series 'Meerkat Manor: The Next Generation'is running on Animal Planet in Britain and will shortly be seen elsewhere. But what we won't see is how the wild meerkats of the Kalahri Desert have become embarrassingly over-familiar with the movie-makers who are trying to film them.
